It's in the Bible

The Bible is the fountain of knowledge for most everything we say and ideas we express in today's world. Many folks would disagree with this statement. They would want to quote some great person in history or even some present day celebrity or politician that they admire. It's true that there are many heroic persons past and present who have contributed to our knowledge and well-being. However, a study of the Bible reveals that the thoughts and ideas have been around for a long time. Solomon says it all in Ecclesiastes 1: 9—“there is nothing new under the sun.”

So we'll be posting some comments on present day ideas and giving a Bible scripture to illustrate the connection.

There is a clever saying that may be helpful to keep us reminded to stay focused. It goes like this: “As you go through life make this your goal; keep your eye on the doughnut and not the hole”. Jesus, the master teacher, gave us a more perfect idea over 2000 years ago when he said in Matthew 6:31-33, “Therefore do not be anxious, Saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteous and all these things shall be added to you.” He reminds us to have the ultimate goal in our hearts.
